Two London firefighters won £20k after accidentally betting on Leicester to win the Premier League.
Jordan Wright and Mitchell Baldock each had £5 on the Foxes to win the title at 2000/1.
But the pair placed the bet by accident after thinking Betfred had made a mistake with the price.
Jordan thought he was betting on Leicester to beat Sunderland on the opening day of the season and convinced his colleague to do the same.
The pair were ridiculed by fellow firefighters at the time but had the last laugh when Claudio Ranieri’s team sealed the title on Monday.
They have each pocketed £10,000.
Mitchell, a 25-year-old Arsenal fan from Thurrock, said: “I got Jordan to give betting on football a go and basically he misread the bookies’ website. It was too good a opportunity, so I got a fiver on as well.
“Everyone we told thought we were mad, but not anymore with Leicester five clear at the top.”
Jordan, 23, said: ““What surprised me was the bookie only let us put a five each on.
“Everyone in the brigade is aware of what happened and our £10,000 each windfalls…and all because basically I made a mistake.
“Neither of us has had the begging letters yet but I am sure they will be on their way soon.”
