Two players – both from Hungary – each won $300k in a few minutes in short-handed tournaments from PokerStars.
PokerStars added a $100 buy-in version of its Spin & Go tournament on July 30 and it has taken less than two weeks for the top prize to be won twice.
The players – ‘Lev729’ and ‘flesske’, – won their three-handed tournaments within the space of a few minutes to pocket the six-figure prizes triggered by the max multiplier.
The runners-up, who each received a $30,000 consolation prize, were ‘ian2104’ from Ireland, ‘AlexRAVXXX from Russia, ‘barrakuuda4’ from Estonia and ‘wallaks’ from Israel.
The max multiplier is drawn at the start of the tournament to see how big the prize pool will be.
In the $100 buy-in tournament, the frequency of the pool being $300k is 1 in 100,000
There are now different Spin & Go stakes levels: $1, $3, $7, $15, $30, $60 and $100.
Players will start the tournament with 500 chips and play three-minute levels.
